The Cardinals Win a Memorable Game in the World Series
Translation: The St. Louis Cardinals and the Texas Rangers are playing in the World Series for the Major League Baseball Championship. In order for a team to win the championship they have to win 4 games against the other team. Coming into last night’s game in St. Louis the Rangers had won 3 games while the Cardinals had won 2. The Rangers were winning the game by a score of 7-5 in the last inning and only had to get one player out to win the game and the World Series. The Cardinals though managed to tie the game which meant that the teams had to play an extra inning to break the tie. During the Rangers’ turn to bat in the extra inning, the team scored two runs and looked, again, like they would win. Then in the Cardinals’ turn to bat, they had two outs again (one more out and they would lose) and they scored two runs to tie the score again. This forced a second, extra inning. Finally the Cardinals scored when the Rangers did not and the Cardinals won the game! Now that both teams have won 3 games they will play a seventh game, on Friday in St. Louis, to determine the champion.
